It’s the day of Christmas Eve and you still have shopping to do. Sound familiar? Most people don’t want to brave a mall on Christmas Eve and happily there are a few other options. Shoppers Drug Mart seems to be where most guys end up and luckily they have some great beauty gifts.
Quo Cosmetics Lips All Around
If you need a last minute gift for a niece, sister or someone’s girlfriend; this 8-piece lip gloss gift is perfect. Don’t want lip gloss? Quo Cosmetics has a ton of other gift options like eyeshadow palettes and nail polish sets.
Stila Sealed With A Kiss Lip Glaze Set
Yes, this is another lip gloss set but this one is more for the beauty junkie in your life. Stila Lip Glaze’s have a cult following and why give one when you can give six decent sized minis? This set includes Pomegranate Sparkle, Ruby Grapefruit, Raspberry, Mandarin Lights, Papaya Pizazz and Peach.
Burt’s Bees A Bit Of Burt’s Bees in Pomegranate
This little gift is essential for anyone spending a lot of time in the dry, skin killing outdoors. With a Pomegranate Moisturizing Lip Balm and Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream, this will help out with chapped lips and dried out fingers.
Soap & Glory Winter Wonderhand
I go through hand cream like crazy during the winter and there’s never enough to go around. If you’re like me Soap & Glory’s Winter Wonderhand is a must have. With three versions of the super moisturizing Hand Food in Original Pink, Sugar Crush and Smoothie Star; this gift will keep hands soft and hydrated all winter.
If you still haven’t picked up all your stocking stuffers and are willing to brave a mall in the last few days before Christmas, Sephora is a great place to get little items that are perfect for any beauty addict. Most of them are right by the checkout, so you probably won’t have to do more than stand in a super long line to get to them.
Sephora Collection Breakups To Makeup Holiday Bag
Every girl needs a great makeup bag and these ones are not only super cute and a really good size but they’re also vegan but look and feel like leather. I’ve already swapped out my old bag for this one and I seriously love it.
Bite Beauty Mix And Mingle
This lipstick duo comes in six shade choices (the shade above is Pepper/Café) and is tiny enough to fit in any purse. They’re tiny but pack a major antioxidant punch and are really hydrating.
KAREN WALKER Amber Craft: Mirror Compact
Karen Walker’s Sephora Collection is gorgeous but this Mirror Compact is something that most girls are going to want in their bags. With a tortoise shell patten plated with 24 karat gold, it even comes with a zip pouch so it doesn’t get ruined in your purse.
fresh Suga(RED) Lip Treatment
Most of us already have at least one (or 10) fresh Sugar Lip Treatments in their arsenal but 25% of this one helps (RED) fight AIDS. Plus it’s nearly identical to the original Lip Treatment, so you get soft lips and you’re helping others.
Maison Martin Margiela Replica Lazy Sunday Morning Rollerball
If you haven’t tried any of Maison Martin Margiela’s Replica fragrances, a rollerball is a great way to start. Lazy Sunday Morning is supposed to remind us of silky skin, crumpled linen sheets and fresh laundry and the lily of the valley, patchouli, white musk and iris really do a great job.
There are so many amazing gifts available this year we have more than one post for so many categories. Especially skin care, because all of us want great skin next year.
Foreo Deep Cleansing Essentials
Invest in your (or someone you love’s) skin care this holiday season with this Foreo set. I have never been a big fan of face cleansing tools and brushes and devices. I think that their hype overvalues them. That makes my support of the Foreo mean so much more. A lot of products tout that it’s like a spa facial at home. After washing with the Foreo, it really does feel like a spa facial at home! My skin feels refreshed and totally clean. It isn’t tough. I’m sure it’s just as nice on sensitive skin, as it is on my tough exterior. There is a smoother Day Cleanser and an exfolitating Night Cleanser to give you an all-day glow.
Ole Henriksen 3 Little Wonders + Cleanse
Give a unique little holiday gift set this year with this compact set. Mom or your favourite aunt will love this set for a more youthful glow. This set includes African Red Tea Foaming Cleaner, Truth Serum Collagen Booster, Sheer Transformation moisturizer, and Invigorating Night Treatment. This skin care set is different than the regular old set you give every year because of the exciting ingredients. Ole Henriksen uses amazing natural ingredients including citrus, licorice and red tea. Whoever you give it to will be impressed.
Peter Thomas Roth Mask-A-Holic Kit
Any mask addict like myself is going to love opening any of the mask sets from Peter Thomas Roth. It’s hard for us to choose just one that we would put on our Christmas wish list. Sets range from the $20 Mini Mask Magic Kit all of the way to the $45 Skinstant Mask Magic set. Try choosing a set based on the different masks included. The Pumpkin Enzyme Mask is a more intensive treatment, not suitable for sensitive skin. The Cucumber Gel Mask is much more hydrating. I would recommend the MAsk-A-Holic set because it includes the amazing 24K Gold Mask. It’s so luxurious and gives your skin a natural glow after just one use! You will almost want to keep it for yourself.
Nude Triple Skin Rescue
All natural skin care isn’t boring anymore! This Nude skin care set doesn’t have any parabens, pulphates or any other products that you don’t always want on your face, plus it’s really innovative. The three products are more than just your regular cleansers. Modernize your routine with the makeup removing Perfect Cleanse Omega Cleansing Jelly, the interesting Detox Fizzy Powder Wash and the silky Progenius Omega Rescue Oil.
Philosophy Renewed Hope In A Jar
Need that finishing touch to the stocking? This moisturizer is perfect. Renewed Hope In A Jar is a philosophy classic product. This moisturizer is great for almost any skin type. It has a very light powdery smell. It absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling soft right away. Everyone will love it.
I don’t celebrate Christmas but my favourite time of year is the holiday season because of all the great gifts that get released. tarte’s Holidaze collection is one of my favourites this year and the value for their gifts are pretty insane for the price you pay. We received two pieces of the Holidaze collection and I have to say I’m pretty obsessed with both of them.
Bling It On Amazonian Clay Blush Palette
The packaging alone for Bling It On is gorgeous. Who wouldn’t want a black sequined palette? But the blushes inside are what make this palette special. It’s so rare to find a blush palette that I get excited when I find one.
With four limited edition blushes; Fetching (rose), Prim (plum nude), Smashing (coral pink), Beaming (shimmery apricot pink) and a permanent shade Dollface (cool pink) there is literally a shade for every skin tone. These are just as creamy and blendable as any Tarte blush and these last all day. Perfect for any blush fan.
Home For The Holidaze
Home For The Holidaze isn’t your typical palette. You get four palettes that each contain four Amazonian Clay eyeshadows and an Amazonian Clay Blush. You also get a full size LipSurgence Lip Creme in Ravishing (rose) and a deluxe Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara. But the best part is that you get a portable collector’s compact.
This compact allows you to take any of the four palettes with you wherever you want to go.
The shades of the palettes are all pretty neutral but give you lots of look options; whether you want a light daytime look or something more dramatic for night. Home For The Holidaze has a $396 value but it’s selling for $49. That’s really impressive for what you get.
From the packaging to the unique ideas inside, tarte’s Holidaze is one of my favourite holiday collections this year and people seem to be agreeing because it’s selling out everywhere.
Kat Von D always has great gift sets for the holidays and this year is no exception but these two are my personal favourites this year.
Lolita Lip Duo
If you’ve never tried Kat Von D’s Lolita lipstick, there’s a reason the chestnut rose shade is a cult fave. In the Lolita Lip Duo you get two mini Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks in both Lolita and the newer Lolita II (terra cotta nude).
While these are considered mini, they still hold quite a bit of product and you really don’t need to use much (the swatches are one swipe). So you could, in theory, give this as a gift but you’re really going to want to keep these for yourself.
Mi Vida Loca Remix Eyeshadow Palette
While everyone obsesses over the Naked palettes, I’ve always been a much bigger fan of Kat Von D’s palettes. The shades are always extremely pigmented and there’s a lot less fallout. Not to mention there’s a whole lot more choice of colour. Mi Vida Loca Remix has 24 shades.
I love this palette because it has every shade I could ever need. I don’t have to get my neutral shades from one palette and bright shades from another. Plus because they blend so well, there isn’t a single shade I won’t try. You can make a bright shade more subtle by blending and make a neutral shade more intense.
My only issue with Mi Vida Loca Remix is how huge it is, storage will be an issue and it gets stored in a sleeve, so you can’t technically close it. The shades though, are enough for me to love it anyways.
Sometimes we need just a little more makeup choice than what a regular palette offers and while we see a lot of gift sets for the holidays, these blockbuster makeup kits will give you more options than you’ll know what to do with.
Avon Makeup Studio Palette
This makeup palette doesn’t look all that big in the box but when you open it up there’s 24 eye shadows, 12 lip glosses, 2 blushes, 2 bronzers and a couple brushes.
The colour options are great and give you lots of choice and while I would probably use other brushes than the ones in the kit, the fact that they’re even in there is great.
This is a great gift for someone just starting to use makeup or don’t want a lot lying around. It’s also small enough that it’s great for travelling.
Sephora Color Wonderland
I always look forward to seeing what huge makeup palette Sephora will pull out every year. This year’s Color Wonderland is for every eye shadow junkie you know.
The 78 eye shadows, 2 eye pencils and a dual-sided brush are split up into a neutral side and a vivid side.
The neutral side is perfect for day looks or a neutral smoky eye.
The vivid side is great for experimenting with colour and there are literally endless combinations between both sides. The packaging is great, nothing is going to pop apart like previous years and it’s folded into a slim book that makes it easy to carry or store. Another added bonus is that the shades you’ll use more often are significantly larger than accent shades.
If you know anyone that loves makeup and really wants to play around, one of these palettes would make the perfect gift.
There are so many holiday collections available this year that it’s hard to decide which ones to spend your money on and we’ve received a lot of them. Too Faced’s Holiday In Paris collection though is my personal favourite and I’m pretty much obsessed with everything about it. The packaging, the colours, the variety, there’s literally something for everyone.
Le Grand Palais
With 18 eye shadows, 2 blushes, 1 bronzer, 1 luminizer, deluxe samples of Shadow Insurance, Melted Lipstick in Peony and Better Than Sex Mascara; this is the most extravagant Too Faced set.
It’s perfect for your sister or niece or just to keep on your makeup table. The wide variety of shades give you a ton of looks to choose from as well.
Le Grand Chateau
I can’t get over the packaging for Le Grand Chateau. It opens up to reveal 3 mini palettes that have a combined 18 eye shadows, 2 bronzers, a blush and a deluxe sample of Better Than Sex Mascara.
These palettes are perfect to carry with you and are sorted into complimentary shades. Perfect for nearly every look you could ever need.
Melted French Kisses
Too Faced’s Melted lipsticks are by far my favourite lipstick. I’ve been wearing these non stop from the second I tried one. I have multiple different shades in my purse at all times.
Melted French Kisses gives you four deluxe sizes in Melted Metal Peony, Melted Chihuahua, Melted Metal Macaron and Melted Berry. I love that you get shade options in this kit and you’re not stuck with bright classic red like most holiday gifts.
I love all the shades but for the holiday season I’m going to be wearing a lot of Berry and I really like the combination of Chihuahua and Metal Peony.
I really can’t get enough of this collection and I wish there was more of it. If you want these, you should probably hurry, they’re selling out everywhere fast.
I’m finally getting to close to the end of my holiday nail polish posts and this time we have Quo By Orly’s Celebrity collection. Celebrity is only available at Shopper’s Drug Mart in Canada but the collection is basically identical to Orly’s Infamous collection, so if you don’t live in Canada but love the collection, you have options. There are also a few Quo By Orly gift sets available that are perfect for any polish lover.
Pass The Champagne
I’m starting with my least favourite of the polishes. Pass The Champagne is basically exactly what you’d expect from the name, a light champagne. The formula just didn’t work for me. It was streaky, showed brushstrokes and just didn’t level well. Luckily this was the exception, not the rule.
Diva is a seriously gorgeous dark teal creme and two coats was perfect. It didn’t stain too badly coming off. Definitely my favourite of the collection.
Wild Child is a deep cherry red creme, perfect for the holiday season. This one was really flattering with my skin tone and I’ve already used it again. I’m not a huge red fan, but I really like this one.
If you need a little glitter in your life, Outrageous is a gold glitter in a clear base that has red shimmer in it. One coat was perfect over Wild Child.
I feel like every Quo By Orly collection keeps getting better with both formula and brush lengths and it’s getting easier to work with. With the exception of Pass The Champagne, this is one of my favourite holiday collections.
Over the holidays we focus a lot on makeup, hair and nails both for gift giving and ourselves. But our skin needs love too. So we found our Most Wanted skin care gift sets for both face and body that you can either gift or keep for yourself. Because everyone’s skin needs a little help during winter.
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Gift Set
You get two choices with this gift set, Rich or Light. They both come with Boosting Essence Water and Aqualia Thermal Night Spa. All you have to do is pick which Aqualia Thermal you want and your dry to very dry, dehydrated skin will thank you.
StriVectin Skin Renewing Favorites
If you’ve always wanted to try StriVectin or know someone who’s into anti-aging skin care, this is a great gift. It includes SD Advanced Intensive Concentrate for Wrinkles & Stretch Marks, Eye Concentrate For Wrinkles, TL Advanced Tightening Neck Cream and Intensive Illuminating Serum. I have a couple family members who are getting this one and they’re going to love it.
boscia Japanese Favorites
boscia is known for their Japanese skin care and if you’ve never tried the Luminizing Black Mask, now you can try it along with other boscia faves like the Detoxifying Black Cleanser, Tsubaki Beauty Oil and Exfoliating Peel Gel. But really, try the mask. It’s insanely good.
philosophy Glowing Days Ahead Set
philosophy’s Glowing Days Ahead has everything you need to transform dull, winter skin into glowing youthfulness. This set includes everything from cleanser (Purity Made Simple) to The Microdelivery Peels, Time In A Bottle Serum and the ever important moisturizer (Renewed Hope In A Jar). Glowing Days Ahead is a must have for the anti-aging skin care junkie on your list.
L’Occitane Almond Star Gift

With the Almond Shower Oil, Almond Supple Skin Oil, Almond Milk Concentrate, Almond Delicious Hands and Almond Soap; you’re going to want to keep this one for yourself. Or you could buy a couple, $10 from every sale of this gift goes to Dress For Success.
Winter is hard on our hair but luckily with the holidays coming up, there are a ton of great hair care sets to get us looking great. These are our picks.

This pack contains Orofluido’s Shampoo, Original Elixir and a Hair Turban so you can treat your dried out hair while you sleep. Perfect for those of us who are too lazy to use a hair mask but need to do something with out dried out hair. Or you can consider it multi-tasking, hair treatment + sleep.
Drybar Texas Tease Travel Kit
If you’re going to be on the road a lot during the holiday season, this is a great kit to throw in your purse or carry-on. You get the Lil’ Lemon Drop brush, a mini Texas Tea volumizing hair spray and a mini Triple Sec 3-In-1 which acts as a dry shampoo, texturizer and gives you volume. Who says you have to have flat hair while you travel?
Kérastase Elixir Holiday Set
If you want a little luxury with your hair care, Kérastase’s Elixir line is a great place to start. The Elixir Holiday set includes Bain Elixir Ultime (shampoo), Masque Elixir Ultime (hair mask) and Elixir Crème Fine (oil cream) and you’ll end up with super soft, strengthened, shiny hair.
ColorProof Evolved Color Care Glam Squad
