I am a mask fanatic! I am truly obsessed! I love using all different types of face masks. When I first saw this Fresh Mask Must Haves gift set, I thought I was dreaming. With four of fresh’s best masks all in one place, this is a gift that I needed!
First, there is the cooling and soothing Rose Face Mask, which smells absolutely amazing. This is more of your every day mask for anyone’s skin. Next, the Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask that soothes and firms while you sleep using natural ingredients. For a deeper clean, there is the Sugar Face Polish that uses sugar and strawberry seeds to clean those pores. Finally, the Umbrian Clay Mattifying Mask that you can use as a cleanser or mask for oily skin.
Available at Sephora and their own website for just $80 this isn’t really much of a holiday splurge, but it is if you buy two: one for a friend and one for yourself. I see a lot of spa days coming up in my future.
I can’t believe October is almost over and we’re already doing holiday posts but if there’s one beauty brand that does the holiday season right, it’s MAC. Magic Of The Night is only the first installment of MAC’s holiday collection this year and it’s no surprise that the products are fabulous. Magic Of The Night isn’t the largest collection ever but there’s a lot of variety with five Colourdrenched Pigments, two Pearlglide Intense Eye Liners, two Lip Pencils, four Lipsticks and two In Extra Dimension Skinfinishes.
The lipsticks we received are Evening Rendezvous (matte reddish purple) and Please Me (matte muted-rosey-tinted pink). MAC’s matte lipsticks are my my favourite of all their finishes, the staying power is incredible and they don’t dry out my lips. I was worried Please Me would wash out my pale skin colouring but it’s actually really flattering and Evening Rendezvous is perfect for a night out.
I’ve never tried the Pearlglide Intense Eye Liners before and I’m so impressed with the texture. We have the Black Swan shade and it’s a gorgeous black with a tiny but of shimmer and these are well named because they really do glide. The Lip Pencil we received is Redd and it’s a classic bright red liner that goes on smoothly.
Shaft Of Gold In Extra Dimension Skinfinish might be the highlighting product I’ve been looking for. I can use it as a blush or a bronzer and it’s not too dark for me. Because it’s a liquid powder highlighter, it blends beautifully.
One of my favourite MAC holiday products are the Colourdrenched Pigments because they’re pressed and much easier to apply. No Taboos is a gorgeous blackened blue but I’ve been eyeing the teal Tonight’s The Night! and might need to grab one before they sell out.
This collection alone would’ve been a fantastic holiday collection but knowing there’s so much more coming from MAC for the holidays makes me so happy. You should probably grab some early because it’s all going to sell out.
Christmas is right around the corner and you’ve probaby picked up most of your bigger gifts but if you need ideas for stocking stuffers (or small Chanukah gifts) these are our Most Wanted.

fresh. Sugar Cravings Kissing Trio
If you’ve never tried fresh’s Sugar Lip Treaments, this is the perfect way to try them. This trio includes the clear original treatment, the Berry tinted treatment and the Cherry tinted treatment. These balms smell and feel amazing and make your lips really soft.
I can’t count how many MAC holiday sets I’ve bought over the years. My first good set of brushes came from one of those sets and this years Keepsake kits are just as amazing as ever. I’ve never really paid much attention to the individual products you can get though and this year that changes. The Heirloom Mix Colour Collection has everything you want in a makeup collection; shadows, lip products, liners, nail polishes, etc… All in gorgeous, pigmented shades.
Heirloom Mix Pressed Pigment
l-r Noblesse Oblige, Modern Majesty, Enchantment
Until you see these in person you can’t really get a good grasp of how insanely gorgeous these shadows are. They’re super shimmery, really buildable and just perfect for the holiday season. Modern Majesty is a personal favourite with it’s green pearl in a dark brown base.
Heirloom Mix Glitter in Amethyst
MAC’s glitters are everything you want in a sparkle for the holiday. Amethyst is a really pretty purple that, well, glitters. It’s really loose and you can apply it anywhere you want to sparkle or add it on top of your shadow for extra shine. It works particularly well with the Enchantment Pressed Pigment.
Heirloom Cremesheen Glass in Courting Chic
I’ve never tried Cremesheen Glass before so I was expecting the stickiness of Lipglass. I was so far off base and this might be my new favourite gloss. It’s creamy, non-sticky and you still get that glassy shine that you want. Courting Chic might be the most flattering red gloss I’ve ever tried. It’s more like a sheer red gloss tint with gold shimmer. The second I opened the box, I was blown away by the shade. Putting it on made it even better.
If these are any indication of what I’ve been missing each year by focusing on MAC’s kits, I guess I need to start taking a better look because these are some of my favourite holiday shades all season.
The holiday line from Lush usually have my favourite products and this year is no exception. We received a good mix of what the holiday collection offers but there are still so many options that we’re eyeing. I’m pretty sure Lush offers a bigger holiday collection than anyone else.
Buche de Noel
Buche de Noel is by far my favourite Lush product. I pretty much count down to the holiday announcement to make sure it’ll be around each year. The ingredients for this cleanser read more like a baking list with ground almonds, mandarins and cranberries but this one goes on your face instead of in it. It’s really gentle, really exfoliating and makes my skin glow without drying it out. I wish they had this one all year since it expires pretty quickly.
Secret Santa Gift
This is a great stocking stuffer or you know, a secret santa gift. It includes a Honey I Washed The Kids soap and a Father Christmas Bath Bomb (it smells like Snow Fairy) that basically sums up two of the sweetest and most adored Lush scents. This is great for kids, adults, anyone who likes baths. Your options are wide open with this one.
Winter Garden Gift
Winter Garden also includes two of my most favourite Lush products: Rose Jam Shower Gel (another holiday only product that I wish they’d carry all year) and Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner. The rose scented combination of these two are a shower match made in heaven. Winter Garden also includes the almont scented holiday Snowcake soap, Vanilla Puff Dusting Powder and an Ultrabalm Body Balm which is literally good for everything, including fixing your cuticles. This is a perfect gift to pamper yourself or someone else with.
This list isn’t even a fraction of what Lush has in their holiday line but it’s a pretty good representation of how great a selection they have. There quite a few others I have on my wishlist and I can’t wait to try more out. Lush traditionally has a great sale on the holiday collection starting the day after Christmas and I’m hoping this year that tradition continues.
The only experience I’ve had with Guerlain’s makeup is when I reviewed the Kiss Kiss lipstick. I love that lipstick so when I saw the A Night At The Opera Holiday collection, I knew I had to try a few things.
Ecrin 2 Couleurs in Cygne Noir
This eyeshadow duo is perfect for a holiday night out. With a shimmering silver black and a deep plum, it’s super dramatic and really pigmented.
Petrouchka Palette For Eyes And Cheeks
This palette has everything you need for your eyes and cheeks. Literally. It comes with a mini set of eye and cheek applicators, 5 shimmery sheer neutral eyeshadows and 4 blushes. All wrapped in a bow. The shadows and blushes definitely play well together and are really easy to apply and build up.
La Petite Robe Noire
La Petite Robe Noire isn’t technically part of the holiday collection but this limited edition bottle looks like an ornament so I’m including it. With notes of rose, jasmine and orange blossom, this scent is subtle. It has a powdery feel to me but not in an old lady way. It’s classy and elegant and will make your fragrance match your makeup.
There are so many things I love about NUDESTIX. I love the idea that almost everything comes in crayon form so that you don’t have to worry about brushes and you can throw them in your purse. I love that there’s a lot of neutral options and I love that it’s a Canadian family business (mom and two daughters). But my favourite thing might be the fact that their Magnetic eye colour crayons are made with oily lids in mind. If you’re not going to carry brushes around, chances are you aren’t carrying primer either, which could make creamy eyeshadow a nightmare.
The #GILTYLOVE Holiday Kit has three of the Magnetic eye colours along with a sharpener that comes in a gorgeous limited edition tin designed by Jessica Gorlicky that has a huge mirror inside. Apparently limited edition cases are going to be a thing with NUDESTIX and I can’t wait to see what the next one looks like.
The shades inside #GILTYLOVE are Gilt (gold), Twilight (dark bronze) and Night (black). These are the perfect colours for a night out or a holiday party and you’ve got everything covered from shadow to eyeliner. They’re super creamy, blendable and extremely easy to use. And in the case of the oily eyelid (or sweaty ones), they stick.
There are so many other NUDESTIX products on my to try list but #GILTYLOVE is a great place to start and if you’re gifting, it’s a great way to introduce others to the brand.
Gift sets are the easiest way to give a gift, especially to someone new to a brand you love. These are some of our Most Wanted Gift Sets for the holidays this season.
Fresh Sugar Legends – I’ve said it a hundred times, everyone should own at least one Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. If you have a friend who doesn’t have any, get them this set to help them stock up for the whole year. It includes seven essential flavours including my personal favourite Passion. Maybe they will share with you too.
Bliss Crown Jewels – Show someone how much you love them with Bliss’ best selling products. This set includes the thick Lemon + Sage Body Butter, Fabulous Foaming Face Wash, Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask and The Love Handler. This is perfect for someone who has been searching for the perfect products that are high quality. Bliss always impresses and their products are perfect for most skin types.
Burt’s Bees Energizing Peppermint Kit – Give someone a gift that will refresh and revive them with this peppermint set. The minty smell is strong, but great to boost your morning shower. Peppermint is especially good on tired feet, so think carefully about who gets this gift set!
Body Shop Olive Premium Selections – This kit will not only make someone’s skin feel fantastic, it’s also part of Body Shop’s team up with War Child and will help send a child to school. This olive scented gift box contains a body scrub, soap, beautifying oil, bath butter and a poof. Everything you need to make your skin feel amazing in the dead of winter.
With the holiday season comes holiday parties. So we’ve put a list of our Most Wanted products that’ll make getting ready for the parties just a little easier.
Laura Mercier Oil Free Flawless Face Kit
This travel size kit will make getting ready simple regardless of where you are. With a primer, tinted moisturizer, concealer and all the tools you need in a makeup bag that you can throw in your purse, you can get ready anywhere.
mark. Nailed It
This duo of mini nail polishes (a red and a shimmery charcoal) will make last minute application and touch ups super easy. They’re small enough to throw in your purse but big enough that they’re easy to use.
Revlon Photoready Eye Art Lid+Line+Lash in Gold Glitz
Don’t have room for a makeup bag? This tube includes a cream eyeshadow on one side and a glittery liner on the other. You can also use the liner on the tips of your lashes for extra sparkle.
NARS And God Created The Woman Eye Kit
This NARS kit gives you a ton of options so you’re not wearing the same look each night. With six neutral shadows, a shadow primer and a brush you can get any look you want with one kit.
Joico Gold Dust Shimmer Finishing Spray
If you’re going to use hairspray to get a last minute finish, why not get some gold shimmer with it? Joico’s Gold Dust Finishing Spray will give you a light hold, a golden shimmer and repairs your hair while giving you shine. You can buy it on it’s own or get it in a bunch of Joico holiday gift sets. If you’re going to a bunch of holiday parties, you may as well get your shine on.
Part of what I love about holiday sets is the packaging but Clé de Peau takes the packaging to their Celestial Beauty holiday collection to a whole new level. Swash London designed it all based on key words celestial, journey, eternity, true beauty and light and boy did they deliver. But the outside is only part of what this makes this collection great. The inside definitely matches the outside.
Celestial Beauty Makeup Coffret
The Makeup Coffret is everything you could need to get your holiday makeup done. It comes with three shadows, two blushes (and brushes for both), a lipstick and a mascara. The shadow shades range from golden to a plummy brown, which could also double as a liner. There was a little fallout from the shadow, so you might want to be a little careful with application.
Shimmering Lip Gloss Trio
I love the shades of these lip glosses, between peach and pink this trio has you covered. What I didn’t love was the lip gloss wand, which is basically a plastic stick, and I ended up using my fingers to apply which worked much better.
This is my favourite from the whole collection. This is the powder compact I want in my purse always. It’s so pretty and the translucent powder inside isn’t too drying and really silky.
These are perfect gifts, even if all you do is look at them. Luckily they products inside work just as well.
