Bliss Mask-A’Peel’ Radiance Revealing Rubberizing Mask

I love a good weird treatment, but this Bliss Mask intimidated me. This mask turns into a rubber texture on your face and gets peeled off after it dries. I had visions of it getting stuck on my skin and not coming off. I would look at the box on a monthly basis and think nope, not yet.

When I finally decided to jump in, I read the instructions on the Bliss Mask box very closely. I wanted to make sure I got it just right. Since it was going from a powder to a paste to a rubber, I knew that I would have to work fast.

To activate and create the Bliss face mask, you have to add cool water into the powder cup and mix it. When you use the little spatula to spread it on your face, it’s going to be cooler than you expect. It is also a funny texture. That makes it a bit difficult to spread. It’s not going to be the same smooth perfect mask as on the box. Don’t worry about how it looks as long as you can spread it all around. Since you are using the whole cup in one use, it’s going to be thick. It comes off easier when it’s thick, so don’t skimp out.

This Bliss face mask stays cool on your skin while it dries. It was kind of nice, even though part of me wanted it to dry warm. It does get solid, even while cool. It definitely feels like rubber. It doesn’t get tight.

Peeling off the mask was the scary part for me. Because it doesn’t get tight, it doesn’t really stick to your skin and peel off. It is actually very easy to come off. I did wish it stuck to my skin more to clean out my pores. I have to admit that my skin does feel nice under the mask. It’s not damp and dewy or dry and tight. It’s the perfect feeling of clean and fresh.

So my fear was for nothing. While the rubber feel and peel is a fun gimmick, it’s really just another ace mask. I did like the results though, so bonus!

August Masks Most Wanted

The summer we often forget about our skin, but a good mask can help bring back some moisture and smoothness after long days out in the sun. If you want to pamper yourself, try these interesting new masks.

Eyeko Hydrogel Eye Patch

Eyeko Hydrogel Eye Patch – I’ve been spending late nights on the patio to take advantage of every minute of the warm weather. I found these little eye patches to erase the evidence of these late nights. Made for brightening eyes and reducing the look of stress and fatigue, these gel eye patches from eyeko are the next step in reducing bags. The gel patches are gooey and damp to apply. You leave them on for 30 minutes, so get ready with a show on Netflix to pass the time. I found they never quite stuck to my face, so I had to stay still and keep adjusting them to be in the right place. They are cooling, so if you want to soothe puffy eyes, these will definitely help. They are also very moisturizing, so they would be great for dry skin. For everything else, I’m not so sure. I didn’t notice a big change in any dark circles or fatigue. It didn’t hurt to try though, and I caught up on the next episode of Modern Family.

the face shop nail mask

The Face Shop Paraffin Nutrition Nail Pack – This summer has been rough on my nails. I have been breaking them playing sports and digging in the garden. I’ve never heard of masks for my nails, but I am willing to try almost anything in the name of beauty. I thought these would be a full glove. I was surprised to see the little finger covers in the package. They were really moist and slippery and kind of hard to get on by myself. I made it work though and sat enjoying another episode of Modern Family while my nails soaked in the moisture. My fingers were left with an oily and slightly sticky feel after removing the pads that I couldn’t quite clean off. I tried to give myself a manicure after, but the nail polish didn’t want to stick to my newly moisturized nails. Whether the mask actually helped strengthen my brittle nails only time will tell, but it definitely gave my cuticles a much needed moisturizing and they look great!

Hada Labo Ultimate Anti-Aging Facial Mask

Hada Labo Ultimate Anti-Aging Facial Mask – All the way from Japan this face mask is packed full of moisturizer. After long days on the beach, my face could use it! This cotton mask is packed with a full bottle of anti-aging serum. You might think they are exaggerating, but they aren’t. There is so much moisturizer all over this mask. When you put it on your face, it is soft, wet and cooling. My face isn’t that dry, so this mask was a bit overkill for me. When I removed the mask I was supposed to just rub in the moisturizer, but not rinse it off. I followed the instructions, but part of me really wanted to wipe it off. The next day my face was still extremely moist. This will be great to keep around for those dry winter months.

Royal Apothic Cuppa Cuppa Exfoliating Firming Tea Mask

Royal Apothic Cuppa Cuppa Exfoliating Firming Tea Mask – There is something to be said about a face mask that is quick and easy, especially when your summer days are so busy. This little tube of firming face mask is packed full of four different teas and coffee just like you will be drinking to relax. This mask is very thin compared to most others, so it takes more to give your face good coverage. It doesn’t harden like you imagine if you have used a lot of other face masks. Even though it’s thin, this makes gives your face a soft finish in just 10 minutes. It’s perfect as part of your prep to get ready for a busy day or night on the town, even if you don’t have a lot of time.

Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Face Gels

skyn iceland face gel

Face masks sometimes feel like they are a dime a dozen, but you can tell when you get the Skyn Iceland Face Gels that they are something different. The package promises less wrinkles and creases in minutes.

From the looks of the packaging, I thought they were going to be complicated and difficult to apply, but these Face Gels are simple. Skyn Iceland has created masks that aren’t all gooey, messy and sticky. These are thin, dry pads that stick to your face without messing up your hands. You just peel off the back sticker and apply to your forehead, smile lines or under your eyes.

I fell instantly in love with the cooling sensation from the pads. It was so relaxing after a long day at work. I used them in all of the right places to feel calm with these cooling pads on my face. As I put my feet up and let the pads do their work, I noticed that they didn’t tug or get stiff like some masks. I could feel them there, but they were never uncomfortable.

After 10 minutes, I went back to the bathroom to remove the pads. There was no tugging or ripping on my skin. They peeled off with no pain. It’s not like those other pads that peel the dirt off of your skin. These slide off and leave your skin feeling soft and moist. My skin has never felt better. It feels so soft that I can’t stop touching it. I don’t really think I have wrinkles, but even my skin feels unbelievably smooth after using these little pads. Under my eyes does feel tighter, leading me to believe that if I did have wrinkles, I would be praising the miracle properties of Skyn Iceland even more. For now I will keep on relaxing with these cool pads on my face and fight wrinkles before they start.

After you hear all of these amazing things about the Skyn Iceland Face Gels, you probably won’t believe me when I tell you that you can get a bag full of all the gels you need for under $20!

Masque Bar By Look Beauty Review

Masque Bar

Sometimes you need to splurge on skin treatments, and other times you find a great product that does wonders for your skin for under $20. This is the case with the Masque Bar line from Look Beauty.

These little masks are formulated to for a range of different skin types. It’s easy to figure out which one you want to use. Over a few months, I tried the Pore Reducing Crème Mask, the Brightening Sheet Mask and the Anti-Blemish Mud Mask. It would have been easy for Look Beauty to cheap out and just make a similar mask and call it different things. They didn’t! Each of the masks had their own properties. They all felt different and dried different. It gave me confidence that each was made different.

There was one common theme though. After I rinsed off these masks, my skin always felt amazing. My face felt deeply moisturized without feeling sticky or wet. Most of all they left my face feeling really clean without getting dry. It’s all a delicate balance and the Masque Bar line has done it all.

It’s going to be my new skin care secret!
