Skin Care gifts are some of the most coveted presents but also sometimes the hardest. Everyone has a different skin type or need, so this list has a little something for everyone.
Sunday Riley – Bright Young Thing
Winter does a great job of drying out our skin and make it look dull. This adorable set of minis from Sunday Riley will brighten you right back up. Start with the Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment to exfoliate, add C.E.O Rapid Flash Brightening Serum and finish off with Tidal Water Cream and you’ll end up with skin that glows. Even in the middle of a snow storm.
Avon A Box For Fall Moisture
Fall might be over but this little kit will take care of a good chunk of your skin care issues. With cuticle and lip conditioners, a hand cream and a Moisture Therapy body wash and lotion duo, you’ll be covered head to toe. I love the triangle box it comes in as well.
Fresh Picture Perfect Mask Set
If you’re like me and love Fresh’s face masks, you’re going to adore this gift. It includes their Rose Face Mask, Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask and Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask. Plus you get two coloured pencils to colour in the gift box while you’re waiting to take off your masks.
Korres Greek Beauty Sleep Set
There’s really nothing I love more than skin care that works while I sleep (less work for me!) and this little gift set is amazing good at hydrating and brightening your skin while you sleep. It has their Wild Rose Vitamin C Brightening Oil and the matching Wild Rose Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial. If you want to wake up to magically transformed skin, you need to get this.
Burt’s Bees Travel Essentials
If you’re shopping for someone who travels a lot, this is a great little bag to help them take care of their skin. Inside the carry-on friendly bag is Milk & Honey Body Lotion, Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream, Facial Cleansing Towelettes, Beeswax Lip Balm and a Coconut & Pear Lip Balm. It’s great for a family trip because kids can use these as well.
Since this is an eye cream post, I should probably start off by mentioning that I don’t get dark circles or bags under my eyes, but I just turned 35 and I’m starting to notice tiny lines so eye cream is my new obsession. I find most eye creams a little on the heavier side and super moisturizing, so I went on a hunt for something a little lighter for summer.
Fresh Rose Hydrating Eye Gel Cream
Fresh makes some great products for sensitive skin and rose infused gel cream is great for someone with sensitive eyes. Since it’s a gel cream, it’s really light and you don’t need a lot of it. It doesn’t absorb as quickly as some of the others but that makes it feel like you’re getting moisture for a long time. It’s also great if you want to brighten up your eyes a bit.
Aveeno Absolutely Ageless Eye Cream
If you need more of an anti-aging eye cream but want something a little lighter, I love this Absolutely Ageless Eye Cream. It comes in a tube that looks like a lip balm and absorbs almost instantly which works extremely well under makeup. Even though it has a blackberry complex, it doesn’t have a scent at all. Honestly, it just feels really nice.
MyChelle Fabulous Eye Cream
Stephanie recently did a post on a bunch of MyChelle products that happened to include her new favourite eye cream. Well we both tried different eye creams and it looks like we each got the right one for us, because the Fabulous Eye Cream is hands down my favourite eye cream. It’s not heavy but feels substantial and has a gorgeous botanical, floral scent. The best part though, are the results. When you apply it, you can literally feel it firming up the skin around your eyes. I’m going to be using this one year round.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye
If you’re like me and overheat in the summer, take this gel cream and throw it in the fridge. Applying it cold will be the most refreshing experience of your life. If you want to leave it in your bathroom, it’ll still cool you off and the hyaluronic acid in this cream will give you a ton of moisture without being too heavy. But trust me, cold is the way to go. This is called fragrance free but I still get a hint of a light, fresh scent and it leaves my eyes feeling moisturized for hours.
Everyone’s skin suffers in the winter and a skin care gift is a fantastic way to take care of it.
REN x Kangan Arora Moroccan Rose Otto Duo
Skin care experts teamed up with London based textile designer Kangan Arora to bring together some pretty great looking gifts. This Moroccan Rose Otto body wash and lotion will leave you clean, hydrated and smelling delicious all winter. It’s also great for sensitive skin.
Amopé Pedi Perfect Gift Set
If you know someone whose feet need help but don’t go for pedicures, you need to get them this gift. It comes with a rechargable foot file, charger station, Daily Moisturizing Foot Cream, suction shower hook and an Amopé and Veet coupon book. Since the foot file is waterproof, you can use it wet or dry, meaning there are no excuses not to use it. I wish I had about five of these lying around, I know some people who would love it.
Biotherm Aquasource Skin Perfection Holiday Set
A lot of us have dry or oily skin with a ton of issues but if you’re shopping for someone with the covetable ‘normal’ skin, this Biotherm set is a great way to go. With an Aquasource Skin Perfection, Night Spa, Cleanser and Toner all in a holiday pouch, they’ll have everything they’ll need for soft, glowing skin.
Boscia Balanced To Pore-fection
I’m constantly trying to find products that’ll help minimize my pores and one of my holy grail items for that is Boscia’s Luminizing Black Mask. I’ve been using it for years and it’s hands down my favourite. This gift set has that mask plus the Detoxifying Black Cleanser, White Charcoal Mattifying Makeup Setting Spray and Revitalizing Black Hydration Gel, all teaming up to whip my pores into shape. If you know someone who wants to minimize their pores or a teenager who might be a little self conscious, you might want this one.
Fresh Rose Skincare Ritual: Daily Essentials
Fresh’s Rose products have been cult faves for years when it comes to dry skin beauty junkies and their Soy Face Cleanser is also pretty legendary. This gift teams them up for an essential winter hydration boost. It includes the Soy Face Cleanser, Rose Hydrating Gel Eye Cream, Rose Face Mask and Rose Floral toner. Anyone would be happy with a gift of bright, hydrated skin!
I’m not sure where December went, but with Christmas and Chanukah both this weekend; we’ll be posting a bunch of gift guides this week. Our first one is all about stocking stuffers, or if you celebrate Chanukah, one of the little mid-holiday gifts.
Fresh Zodiac Oval Soap
I love the idea of these soaps. There are twelve scents to go with each zodiac sign. I’m both an Aries and a Taurus and I love the Mangosteen scented Aries soap. I actually found that I liked my signs the best, so maybe there’s something to this. This is a great personalized gift for anyone.
Burt’s Bees Kissable Lip Color Trio in Warm
This little trio is great for anyone who wants moisturized lips with a hint of colour. It comes in warm and cool varieties and I love the warm version. It includes the classic Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmers in Rhubarb, Peony and my favourite, Fig.
Arbonne Tahitian Coconut Lip Therapy Set
If you know someone whose lips have taken a rough turn during the winter, this delicious coconut scented lip duo will definitely help them out. With a lip smoother and matching salve, you can give them super soft lips with one little gift.
Invisibobble Time To Shine Collection
Ever since I started using these weird little hair elastics (they look like old telephone cords), I’ve been hooked. No more ponytail bend in your hair and I love using them with wet hair because they don’t feel damaging when I pull them out. The Time To Shine collection are really pretty metallic shades, and they’re tiny enough to fit in a stocking.
Tarte Limitless Lippies
If you know someone who loves the matte lip trend, you get eight of Tarte’s mini Tarteist Matte Lip Paints. You can either split these up or give all of them as a gift. There’s everything from nudes to reds, so everyone can find a shade they love!
January always seems like a good time to be a little more low key with makeup, but there are definitely some staples that I don’t take a break from. These are my Most Wanted this month.
Kérastase Chronologiste Crème de Régénération
The dryness of winter basically demands the use of hair masks and I haven’t found a company that does them better than Kérastase. The Chronologiste Crème de Régénération is probably my favourite out of all of them. Not only does it make my hair smoother but it soothes my scalp and leaves my hair really soft and healthy instead of dried out.
Rimmel Fix & Protect Makeup Primer
Rimmel’s newest primer, Fix & Protect, is a great way to give your skin a little boost in the winter without drying it out. This slightly runny, white primer does a great job of evening out your skin and minimizing pores while putting up a block that’s anti-pollution and stress. Plus I’ve noticed my skin looks better since I’ve been using it.
Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment
Stephanie and I both love Fresh’s Sugar Lip line but somehow I hadn’t tried the Advanced Therapy until recently. This clear balm has the same lemon sugar scent as the others in the line but if feels a little more substantial. It has a really nice slip to it but it lasts a long time on your lips. I’ve been using it before bed and I wake up with super soft, smooth lips in the morning.
Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara
Maybelline has always been my favourite drugstore brand mascara and I always expect great things. Push Up Drama definitely delivers. From the first time I used it, the push up cup brush gave me amazing length and volume and it lasts all day. I don’t have to use an eyelash curler with this one and honestly, it gives me so much length and curl on it’s own, I’m kind of scared to.
Dermalogica Sheer Tint
I don’t wear a lot of foundation and prefer BB creams or tinted moisturizers. Dermalogica’s Sheer Tint in Light is everything I want in a tinted moisturizer. It gives me light coverage, keeps my skin hydrated and actually makes my skin better while I’m using it. It has a slight medicinal scent but it doesn’t bother me. It’s a great way to even out my skin tone without wearing a ton of makeup.
If you still haven’t picked up all your stocking stuffers and are willing to brave a mall in the last few days before Christmas, Sephora is a great place to get little items that are perfect for any beauty addict. Most of them are right by the checkout, so you probably won’t have to do more than stand in a super long line to get to them.
Sephora Collection Breakups To Makeup Holiday Bag
Every girl needs a great makeup bag and these ones are not only super cute and a really good size but they’re also vegan but look and feel like leather. I’ve already swapped out my old bag for this one and I seriously love it.
Bite Beauty Mix And Mingle
This lipstick duo comes in six shade choices (the shade above is Pepper/Café) and is tiny enough to fit in any purse. They’re tiny but pack a major antioxidant punch and are really hydrating.
KAREN WALKER Amber Craft: Mirror Compact
Karen Walker’s Sephora Collection is gorgeous but this Mirror Compact is something that most girls are going to want in their bags. With a tortoise shell patten plated with 24 karat gold, it even comes with a zip pouch so it doesn’t get ruined in your purse.
fresh Suga(RED) Lip Treatment
Most of us already have at least one (or 10) fresh Sugar Lip Treatments in their arsenal but 25% of this one helps (RED) fight AIDS. Plus it’s nearly identical to the original Lip Treatment, so you get soft lips and you’re helping others.
Maison Martin Margiela Replica Lazy Sunday Morning Rollerball
If you haven’t tried any of Maison Martin Margiela’s Replica fragrances, a rollerball is a great way to start. Lazy Sunday Morning is supposed to remind us of silky skin, crumpled linen sheets and fresh laundry and the lily of the valley, patchouli, white musk and iris really do a great job.
I am a mask fanatic! I am truly obsessed! I love using all different types of face masks. When I first saw this Fresh Mask Must Haves gift set, I thought I was dreaming. With four of fresh’s best masks all in one place, this is a gift that I needed!
First, there is the cooling and soothing Rose Face Mask, which smells absolutely amazing. This is more of your every day mask for anyone’s skin. Next, the Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask that soothes and firms while you sleep using natural ingredients. For a deeper clean, there is the Sugar Face Polish that uses sugar and strawberry seeds to clean those pores. Finally, the Umbrian Clay Mattifying Mask that you can use as a cleanser or mask for oily skin.
Available at Sephora and their own website for just $80 this isn’t really much of a holiday splurge, but it is if you buy two: one for a friend and one for yourself. I see a lot of spa days coming up in my future.
It’s that time of year again! Gift and shopping and holiday set time! We are sure that we are going to have lots of different stocking stuffers, most wanted, amazing sets and holiday beauty for the next two month. Let’s get things started with these little gifts that make the perfect stocking stuffer.
Bliss Night Night Facial In A Box
I am getting one of these for all of my girls and my secret Santa this year. I love this little kit. It’s possibly the best idea ever! It comes with the bliss fabulous makeup melt, multi-‘face’-eted clay mask and triple oxygen ex-‘glow’-sion moisturizer. It’s in a little box, but there is enough for two, so you can make it a girl’s night if you want. I love it even more because it’s the fastest three step mask system ever. Even someone who says they don’t have time for things like this, has time for this 5 minute mask. It’s a nice way to let someone you love pamper themselves.
Sephora Collection Face Mask
I am always looking for little stocking stuffers that are good quality for a low prize and are small and compact. These masks are my new saviour! For just $8 you can get a little Sephora Face Mask for everyone you know. There are eight different types, so you can customize your gift for everyone you know. I tried the Lotus Mask that you apply before bed and wear over night to refresh your skin. It’s great and easy perfect for any girly stocking.
The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Care Kit
Anyone who suffers from acne is going to love you for sharing this secret from The Body Shop. Who knew they would be so good at helping with oily, acne ridden skin. This kit comes with everything they will need: a toner, face wash, lotion and the best part the Tea Tree Oil. I discovered this line in the fall and have been keeping it close ever since.
Quo Cosmetic Crackers
These are one of my favourite things of the holiday season. Forget those boring regular Christmas crackers! Quo has upped the game with these beauty crackers. Buy a box and give one cracker as a stocking stuffer to every girl on your list!
Fresh Sugar Rose Ritual Set
Friends shouldn’t let friend live without a fresh Sugar lip treatment. This little set helps your friend discover one of the best beauty product on the market! As an added bonus you also have the shine treatment to go from matte to glossy.
I can’t believe June is already almost over, these are the products that got me through the month.
Soap And Glory Fab Pore T-Zone Cloths
In Toronto, with summer comes humidity. And when you have combination skin that can lead to all kinds of pore problems. Soap And Glory’s Fab Pore T-Zone Cloths are the perfect remedy. I usually use them in the middle of the day if I’m not wearing foundation to refresh my skin, unclog my pores and keep my pores looking a little less obvious. These are a summer necessity for any kind of oily or combination skin.
fresh. Sugar Nude Tinted Lip Treatment
Both Stephanie and I are huge fans of all the Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment shades but I was really happy they introduced Sugar Nude. You get the same tinted lip balm and SPF 15 but in a really natural shimmery blush nude shade. Perfect for when you want the results but don’t want to go clear or have a bright lip.
Sodashi Balancing Face Mist
I live off of face mists and toners all summer to cool down and refresh my skin. Sodashi’s Balancing Face Mist is my newest obsession along those lines. It’s so cooling and hydrating but also balances out my skin at the same time. I love that the scent isn’t overpowering as well. There’s also a Calming Rose Face Mist that I really want to try.
Laura Mercier Silk Crème Oil Free Photo Edition Foundation in Rose Ivory
In the summer I need an oil free foundation because I cause enough shine and glow all on my own. This foundation is a superstar. You use the tiniest bit and get completely full coverage, a matte look and flawless looking skin. The Rose Ivory shade is perfect for my fair skin and blended in seamlessly. For days when I want a lighter look, I mix a drop of this in with my moisturizer and get a perfect tinted moisturizer.
Revlon by Marchesa Runway Collection Manicure Essentials Kit
With all the festivals and outdoor events that happen in the summer, this coral kit nail kit is perfect for fixing your nails on the go. The stunning Marchesa design and high quality cuticle trimmer, nail clippers, file and buffer make it easy to get a great manicure wherever you are.
Stephanie posted her spring face mask picks yesterday and now it’s my turn. Apparently I like my masks with tea in them.
boscia Green Tea Mattifying Hydrogel Mask
This mask took a little bit of work to get used to. It’s a sheet mask but it’s got quite a slimy feel to it. Once you get it on properly and let it do it’s thing, it’s amazing. It left my skin feeling amazingly refreshed, and it was definitely mattifying. They’re only $10 CDN at Sephora so I’ve already grabbed another one. This mask comes in two other varieties as well.
StriVectin Instant Revitalizing Mask
This mask is probably the most classic of my picks. It applies really creamy and you only need a thin layer so a little goes a long way. It gets drier as it sets and once it’s comes off your skin feels really soft. I almost didn’t want to use moisturizer after. If you have super dry skin, I’d skip this one but for everyone else that wants really soft and glowy skin, you should take a look at this one.
Royal Apothic Cuppa Cuppa Firming Tea Treatment Mask
I adore Royal Apothic’s packaging and I love that you can buy this mask in a tub with six tubes or you can buy one individually. This mask isn’t just for your face. You can use it on your mask, neck, hands or anywhere you want a little tightening up. It has a little bit of a grain to it, so you get a good scrub when you’re removing it, which I love.
fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask
There are literally no words for how much I love this mask. The texture is so unique, almost like a whipped balm and it’s so refreshing to apply. This mask doesn’t get dry while it sets and even though it says to leave it on for 5-10 minutes, after five my skin just looks seriously fabulous. I don’t know how it works but it does. If you want hydrated, glowing skin you need to try this mask.
Lotus Aroma Pink Clay Soothing Mask
When my skin gets really sensitive, this is the mask I reach for. The pink clay doesn’t get overly dry but I can feel it really pulling stuff out of my skin, in a good way. the result leaves me with super smooth skin that has way less redness than before.
