Garnier Fructis 1 Minute Hair Masks

Garnier’s new 1 Minute Hair Masks have been such a fun way for me to experiment this spring. The new treatments of easy to use hair masks covers a wide range of needs and an equally wide range of delicious scents.

There is the Avocado Smoothing Treat, Coconut Nourishing Treat, Papaya Damage Repairing Treat, Banana Strengthening Treat and the Goji Color Vibrancy Treat. They all smell amazing in the containers and equally great when you apply them in the shower.

There are a few ways that you can use these masks, which makes them even more valuable in my mind. You can use them like a mask and rinse after a few minutes in the shower. You can use it like a regular conditioner. You can also use it like a leave-in conditioner by applying it to damp hair.

I used a variety of the masks and got completely hooked. The banana and avocado quickly bubbled up as my favourite hair treatment. The thing is, despite all of the different types of treatments, I felt like they were all doing the same thing for my hair. They all gave my hair a silky and conditioned finish on my hair despite the labeling.

The Garnier 1 Minute Hair Masks made my hair look and feel great, just don’t get too hung up on the details.

L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Hair Collection – You’ve probably already tried, or at least heard of, the original Mythic Oil for hair. I didn’t know that there was a whole line of Mythic Oil products just waiting for my hair. I tried the Shampoo, Masque and Oil Detangling Spray all with the same Mythic Oil care for my locks. I found the whole collection very soft and moisturizing on my hair. After using the collection my hair looked because and was really easy to manage.

Pureology Style & Care Smooth Perfection Infusion – Lately I haven’t had great luck with pre-blow dry frizz products. It took my a long time to dare to use this product. I love that it’s a gel and cream combo – a styler and a leave-in conditioner. I think it’s that combination that helped it work to keep my hair looking great for longer. I did find that it made me have to wash my hair sooner than usual, because it got greasy faster. But that said it was great from wash to wash.

Redken Pillow Proof Blow-Dry Collection – Redken wants to help keep your blow out for a few days longer with their new Pillow Proof collection. I tried the combo of the Express Treatment Primer and the Two Day Extender Dry Shampoo. The primer was supposed to help your hair blow dry faster than usual. I’m not entirely sure that it worked, because I don’t blow dry my hair enough to know the regular amount of time. But my hair did feel and look great afterwards, so I will call that a win. The dry shampoo is your average dry shampoo. It left my hair looking good for at least two more days. It’s also nice and cool and smells good! Bonus!

Pantene Pro-V Intense Repair Collection – I don’t really think that my hair is damaged, but you can never protect your hair too much can you? It smells and feels like something that you would get in a salon. It’s luxurious feeling and leaves your hair very soft. I don’t know about the damage, but I definitely have less frizz and more silky hair that i don’t have to throw in a ponytail to hide. It will be perfect for protecting my hair from those sub-zero temperatures.

Invisibobble Hair Ring – These little spiral hair ties have an interesting back story. They were inspired by phone cords, back in the day when people had home phones. They are meant to give you less headaches, stop that annoying hair crimp and be simple to use. I find them a bit clunky, but they are definitely softer on my hair. They don’t feel like they are hold my hair so tight it hurts. I kept thinking that they were falling out. It’s a weird feeling to get used to, but you just have to trust the Invisibobble. It could change your ponytails forever.

Hif Cleansing Conditioner

I was so excited to try this hair care product because it sounded so different. This hif Cleansing Conditioner is supposed to both clean and soften in one step. This was meant to be a next step in hair cleaning.

The product treats hair like fabric using different cleansers and conditioners to get the right finish on your hair. Each type in the line has different numbers for cleansing, conditioning and activation time, so you know the formula that you are getting. I tried the hydration support bottle for moisturizing. Since I have been suffering with extremely dry scalp, this hydrating cream seemed perfect.

I hate to write bad reviews about any products, but I have never had an experience quite like this one with my hair. The hif cleansing conditioner is extremely thick. I actually had a hard time working it all the way through my hair. Even when I added a little water, it didn’t lather up and spread. I didn’t think much of it. I spread it though my hair and left it for the recommended 3 minutes.

When I tried to rinse it out of my hair though, it didn’t easily rinse out easily leaving my hair silky clean. My hair still felt dirty. I wondered if it would dry better.

It didn’t! When my hair was dry it felt grimy, greasy and so dirty. It felt dirtier than my hair has ever felt. It was just one big clump. Honestly there are no words to describe how my hair felt.

Luckily I had a hair appointment the next day. It took three washes for her to get all remnants of the product out of my hair and return my hair to its previous smoothness.

Like I said before, I hate writing bad reviews, but I couldn’t let this one go. I wanted to like this product so much, but I can’t risk using it again.

Herbal Essences Naked Collection

I’m going to try very hard during this whole review to not make a single pun, because I am serious about this Herbal Essences Naked Collection.

I have tried hundreds of new products over the years. The shelves in my bathroom have been filled with shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, gel, hair masks, mousse, oils and so much more. I tend to switch out the products in the front of the shelf regularly. It’s hard for any product to remain in the front of the shelf. How long a product stays in the front of the shelf is often how I measure the merit of a product.

The Herbal Essences Naked Collection has been on the front of my shelf for years. I just had to share my passion for this line with the world!

My favourite part of this hair care line is not the shampoo, which leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean. It is also not the conditioner, which replaces that moisturize without weighing down my hair. It’s the additional products in the line that I love. The Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo is light and airy. The Volumizing Souffle is a mousse that doesn’t leave my curly locks feeling hard and crunchy. The Flexible Hold Spritzer is a light spray gel that holds down flyaways, while my hair is still bouncy and light.

I love the Herbal Essences Naked collection because all of the products are light on my hair. At the end of the day, my hair always still feels natural. It feels like my hair.

It’s also a very affordable line! We all know that Herbal Essences products can be found in your local drugstore at a great price. It’s so rare that good products are also very affordable too!

L’Occitane Revitalizing Fresh Hair Care

My hair has never felt cleaner and I would like to thank L’Occitane for that. I had no expectation for the Aromachologie Revitalizing Fresh Shampoo and Detangling Spray when I got it. I had never used L’Occitane’s hair care products before.

The first thing you are going to notice about the Revitalizing Fresh Shampoo is that it has a very strong smell. It’s packed full of essential oils (thyme, cedar, lavender, mint and grapefruit) to give you hair a deep clean. That makes for quite a smell in the bottle. I actually warned the other people in my house about it, because I didn’t want them to get a shock if they used it.

The smell is worth it though, because my hair has never felt so clean. It has a light foaming that doesn’t get really bubbly when you lather it in, just enough to let you know that it is worked. As I rinsed the L’Occitane shampoo out of my hair, I could actually hear that my hair was squeaky clean.

There is no Conditioner in this hair care collection, so I wasn’t sure what my next step should be. My hair felt clean and soft, but I’ve never not used a conditioner on my thick, curly, unmanageable hair. I used my regular everyday conditioner, but I was instantly sad that I was covering up my freshly clean hair.

Post-shower and mornings after, I used the Detangling Spray on my hair. It has the same strong scent. I sprayed it all over my morning hair. My hair was definitely easier to brush after a quick spray. If you have thick hair like me ensure that you spray on top and underneath your hair to allow your brush to glide through easily. It works well enough, but I probably wouldn’t go out and buy it again like I will the shampoo.

If you need a seriously deep clean L’Occitane is going to get all of that residue out. Be warned though, delicate hair might not be able to stand up to this hardcore shampoo and the smell is really really strong. If you are tough and want something deep clean, this is hands down the best detoxifying shampoo that I’ve ever used.

Tangle Teezer Brush Review

I used to have a small plastic brush that helped to detangle and flatten my hair making it more manageable. I loved that brush. It was small and handy. I would bring it with me everywhere. That is how on one sad day, I dropped it out of my purse and into a public toilet. It was devastating. I clearly couldn’t use this brush again. Even though the water was clean I would always know that that brush had been in the toilet.

The next day the Tangle Teezer arrived on my doorstep. It literally couldn’t be more perfect timing.

I loved Tangle Teezer almost right away. I liked the great little size of this brush. It fit comfortably in my hand to hold with a good grip, so maybe this one wouldn’t end up in the toilet. It also comes with a cover, so that I can throw it in my brush and not worry about it getting gross.

Using the brush is interesting because the plastic bristles are so tough. I have very thick hair, so running this brush through my locks was almost a relief. It got right down to my scalp to make my hair and scalp feel loose. It scratched my head. If I had thin hair, I don’t know how it would feel. I think it would be too fierce for someone with a sensitive scalp or thin hair.

Tangle Teezer brush got right in there to smooth and untangle my hair. It’s true that it didn’t really tug at my hair or hurt when it pulled. It slipped through my thick wavy hair easily leaving it a little smooth.

The Tangle Teezer is great for mornings or quick fixes. It’s perfect for people who don’t want to fuss.

OGX Coconut Water Hair Care Collection

Are you over the whole coconut hair and body products trend? I am not! I love the smell of coconut on my skin and body, so I was ecstatic to get more bottles of shampoo, conditioner and oil with the tropical scent of coconut.

The OGX Shampoo and Conditioner hydrate and nourish your hair well enough. The smell was, as you can expect, amazing in the shower. After it dried, I can’t say that I had anything to complain about. I also don’t really have anything to rave about other than the smell. My hair looked normal. It’s a good thing that it kept my hair in the same condition, but it was also a bit of a letdown that I didn’t come away with stunning shiny hair.

It’s the final step of this trio that really made me happy. The Weightless Hydration Oil is the final step to your hair. It is the same idea as many other hair oils. This OGX oil is light and gives your hair amazing shine. It also has that same coconut scent.

If you are like me and need a boost of tropical coconut, especially as the cold weather comes OGX has you covered.

I have tried a lot of hair care products over the past four years. I’ve tried, tested and reviewed smoothing creams, shampoos, detoxes, masks, sprays, mousses and more. I love sharing my products with friends and family. It’s my own personal mission to help everyone find their hair miracle in a bottle. This shampoo, conditioner and hair oil treatment is full of coconut oil and shea butter, which, in case you didn’t know, are natural moisturizers for your hair. Blo Dry Bar & Beautiful Blowouts

Like me, there a good chance that you have seen blow dry bars popping up in your town and thought why? I didn’t know why I would need a place to go just for a blow dry that wasn’t my hair dresser. To solve this mystery, I got in touch with the leaders of this hair trend, Blo Dry Bar.

Blo was the first blow dry bar in North America and the leaders with over 40 locations in North America and Asia. Sharmina Rajabali a Franchise Partner with Blo says that “We have become experts at session styling because that’s all we do! Blo is the perfect place to go in between trips to the hairdresser to maintain salon-quality locks. It is a quick, affordable and convenient luxury. After all, perfect hair equals perfect confidence.”

So I booked my appointment and headed to the Blo Dry Bar at Bayview Village in Toronto. It was early and I had a barbecue later that afternoon, so I was excited to see what they could do for my uncontrolled waves. When I went in, I was rushed into a seat quickly and asked what I wanted. I was nervous and I felt a little uncomfortable. I just said straight please, because I wasn’t sure how this worked. I was secretly envying the loose waves and braid from one of the girls working, but I didn’t know if I could ask for that.

I had my hair washed and then when I went back to the chair, I picked up the menu of Blo’s styling options. Blo doesn’t just offer regular blow outs, but an option of styles from classic to waves to straight and even braids, ponytails and buns. I asked if I could change my mind and pick loose waves for something fun.

Cristina went to work. I have had many stylists blow dry my hair over the years, but none were as fast as the crew at Blo. It wasn’t just Cristina, but everyone there was a pro at blow drying. Even though they were all focused and working fast, it didn’t feel rushed or formal. Everyone working was having a good time laughing and singing along to the radio. While at times, I felt a little but left out of the joke. Overall it made me feel more relaxed that I could sit and enjoy their company.

All the while, my hair was turning from crazy to gorgeous. My waves were looking beautiful. As each wave dropped, the smile on my face got wider and wider. When it was all done, xxx stepped back to admire her work and ask me what I thought. I was thrilled! But then she asked me how I felt about her adding a braid to my hair to keep my bangs out of my face, exactly like the girl’s hair that I admired on the way in.

When it was done, it was perfect. I walked out of Blo Dry Bar feeling amazing. I honestly don’t know if my hair has ever looked better.

I can definitely see how this could be addicting. They say there are some clients who come in every other day to keep their blow out looking amazing. I don’t know if I am that addicted yet, but maybe one day.

The Secret To My Gorgeous Hair: Head & Shoulders

I am not trying to be conceited, but I have really gorgeous hair. It’s thick. It’s voluminous. It’s naturally wavy, but can easily be curly or straight with little effort. It holds style and colour well. It doesn’t get greasy or frizzy easily. My only complaint is that there is a lot of it, but when my friends all start losing their hair I will probably appreciate that too.

Hair dressers often compliment my hair when I sit in their chair. Until now, I haven’t revealed the secret to how I keep my hair looking so beautiful. The secret to my hair is Head & Shoulders.

Some people probably won’t believe me. People have told me that Head & Shoulder’s strips your hair or clogs your hair follicles or any other number of issues, while I sit and quietly smile to myself.

With this job, I tend to use a lot of different shampoos and conditioners. I need to try out the latest products for reviews or my own curiosity. I’m always on the lookout for the next big thing. Not all of these new miracle products are gentle on my lovely hair. I have had products that dried out my hair, bad dye jobs that needed to be repaired, split ends, greasy products and more. All of these treatments and masks and serums mean that sometimes my hair needs a little help. That is when I turn to Head & Shoulders. Using Head & Shoulders seems to clean up all of the junk I put my hair through. It restores each strand to the right shine. It halts split ends in their tracks.

I love to mix it up depending on how my hair is feeling at the time. In the summer, I use the Refresh Shampoo to give a cooling feeling on my hot scalp. The Smooth & Silky Shampoo to get rid of frizz. Now I have the Damage Rescue collection for dullness and damage.
