As far as I’m concerned when it comes to lipstick, the biggest thing I care about is how dry will it make my lips? My lips are dry enough on their own without adding lipstick that sucks out whatever moisture is left. Lancôme’s Shine Lover Vibrant Shine Lipstick is one of the few that actually adds moisture to my lips.
Shine Lover is almost like a balm-lipstick. The shades are pretty sheer but buildable and are so light you forget you’re wearing anything on your lips. I tried 314 Spontanee (a sheer coral pink) and 354 Inattendu (sheer rose). While the shades were nowhere near as shiny as I was expecting considering the name Shine Lover, they were so comfortable to wear and left my lips feeling hydrated and soft.
Shine Lover has a very slight rose scent that I almost didn’t notice but I definitely associate with Lancôme. The colour doesn’t last as long as I wish it did but since it’s so hydrating reapplying doesn’t cause any caking or issues.
Shine Lover is a great way to get a lipstick and a balm in one and a little colour along the way.
January has been all about skin care for me, so it’s not surprising that my Most Wanted products this month have almost nothing to do with makeup. These are my Most Wanted this month. Lancôme Visionnaire Advanced Multi Correcting Cream
The first time I used this balm-like cream I was convinced it wasn’t right for my skin type because it didn’t feel like it was doing anything at all. But the next morning my skin looked better than normal so I kept using it. Literally every time I use it at night, I’m glowing the next morning. My skin tone looks more even, clearer and I’ve been getting a ton of compliments. I don’t know how it works but I’m loving the results. Eve Lom Radiance Perfected Brilliant Cover Concealer in Ivory 02
This might be called a concealer but I’ve been using it as a cream foundation. I typically don’t wear a ton of face makeup but I have a lot of redness and this concealer completely covers it up and leaves my skin looking flawless. It doesn’t crack and leaves a silky finish that doesn’t feel cakey. mark. Naked Love Hand Cream
This apricot scented hand cream smells delicious. It’s not too thick but not runny and absorbs really well. I love that this works as well as it smells. Live Clean Fresh Face Refreshing Facial Wipes
A lot of makeup remover wipes don’t have any texture to them which makes my skin feel not so clean sometimes. Luckily these wipes have an open weave to them and get every last bit of makeup off. They don’t irritate my skin, especially around the eyes, at all. The fact that there’s a snap lid to keep them fresh is a bonus. Malin+Goetz Mojito Lip Balm
I received this balm in my Ipsy bag last month and I haven’t stopped using it since. It has a really nice slip to it and keeps my lips hydrated for hours. I can even feel it on my lips after eating but it isn’t sticky at all. I just wish there was more in the tube so I wouldn’t run out as fast.
I’m starting to wear a lot more lipstick than I used to and one of the reasons is they’re making them a lot more comfortable and less drying. Lancome’s L’Absolu Rouge might be one of the most comfortable and hydrating lipsticks I’ve ever worn. We received 246 Rose Comtesse and 244 Rose Amnesia to try out and they’re both really flattering and I imagine they’d look great on a lot of skin tones.
The pigmentation is amazing with L’Absolu Rouge and they last a really long time but they’re also extremely moisturizing and smell delicious. Add in a magnetic cap and these will definitely become staples in my purse. There are a few more shades I have my eye on but in the meantime I’m definitely happy with these.
This list of my Most Wanted makeup of 2014 could’ve been really really long and it was a struggle to narrow it down but these are the products I definitely used more than others. Lancôme Grandiôse
I’ve never used a product that actually lived up to all it’s hype like this one. Lancôme’s Grandiôse did everything I wanted it to and more. It’s super black, gets every single lash, lasts forever and I don’t need an eyelash curler. It’s going to take a lot for another mascara to beat this one for me. Butter London Moisture Matte Lipstick in Macbeth
Of all the coral lipsticks I tried this summer, nothing lasted in my purse anywhere near as long as Butter London’s Macbeth. It’s the most flattering shade and it’s so comfortable it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing lipstick while lasting for hours. Maybelline Dream Wonder Liquid Touch Foundation I’m not much of a foundation person but Maybelline’s Dream Wonder is amazing. A couple drops gave me even coverage and it’s really lightweight and comfortable. And it makes my skin look flawless. Lise Watier Feline HD Eyeliner in Brun This Lise Watier pen eyeliner has already been one of my monthly picks but it’s so good that I had to put it on my Most Wanted of the year. It’s the easiest and smoothest pen I’ve used. I’ve literally never made a mistake with it and the brown is such a nice change from black liner. Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette
If you read my original review of this palette, you know I was just a tiny bit excited about it. Not much has changed. This is the only eyeshadow palette I keep on my bathroom counter and I use it constantly. The colours are amazing and blend really well together. There are just so many options. I’m already dreading the day I run out of certain shades and I use it often enough that it could actually happen.
Lancôme’s Grandiôse mascara seems to be everywhere I look lately and I’ve probably never wanted to try a mascara more than this one. So when Influenster sent us a Lancôme Grandiôse Voxbox to try, I was pretty excited.
Grandiôse is definitely unlike any mascara I’ve tried before. It has a swan neck shaped wand that’s supposed to make it easier to reach every single lash and it’s tag line is ‘fanned out lashes, divine curves.’
Grandiôse pretty much lives up to every expectation I had and then some. In one coat, I had all my lashes covered, including ones I didn’t know existed, and already had a pretty dramatic look going and a second coat just added to it and didn’t get clumpy. The formula is a really dark black and not too wet. I don’t have to use an eyelash curler at all with Grandiôse, it’s almost like there’s one built in.
I have tons of mascaras that I use on a regular basis but I’m going have a really hard time finding any that top this one.
We received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
There are so few lip glosses that I’ll actually wear in the summer, I generally find them way too sticky and go for tinted lip balms or lip crayons instead. Lancôme’s Lip Lover is changing that. A new formula that combines intense colour, the feeling of a balm and the shine of a gloss but absolutely no stickiness. This is the new way to wear lip colour in the summer. It goes on like butter and even after the colour wears off you feel like you’re wearing a super hydrating lip balm. The fact that it smells delicious doesn’t hurt.
Rose Des Nymphes is a perfect mid tone rose shade for when you want to wear a bright lip shade but don’t want to go crazy. Abricot Tango is a great peachy shade for every day wear and Bouquet Final is a high gloss fuschia with a hint of purple that’s great for going out at night.
There are 11 other shades that means everyone will find a shade that’s perfect for them.
