Tarte Spring ’15 Most Wanted

Tarte Spring 2015
We’re huge fans of Tarte so it wasn’t a huge surprise that we completely fell in love with their spring releases and we had to do a Most Wanted on it because these shades are just so perfect for spring.
Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette
Tarte Tartelette Palette Open
Tartelette is a brand new eyeshadow palette that has twelve brand new matte neutral shades. Every single shadow is extremely pigmented and really smooth and blendable. Even without a primer these shadows last a lot longer than you’d expect. I love that Tarte included instructions for two looks using the palette.
Tarte Cheeks Lips 2015
LipSurgence Lip Tint in Glitzy
I’d never used a LipSurgence Lip Tint before and after using Glitzy I’m completely hooked. This deep pink shade is so flattering and it’s probably the most moisturizing lip crayon I’ve ever used and I love that even after it wears off you still have a tint of colour.
Tartelette Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Celebrated
Tarte’s blushes are known for their pigmentation and lasting power and Celebration is no exception. This blush was released as part of Tarte’s 15th anniversary and the light pink nude was a little lighter than I expected but built up really well.
Tarte Cheek Lip Swatches 2015
Tartelette Amazonian Butter Lipstick
This mid-toned pink lipstick is another anniversary release but this one is limited edition. I really can’t imagine a better spring lipstick than Ethereal Pink. It’s soft, creamy and lasts forever. The fact that it’s both super pigmented and really comfortable at the same time had me sold the first time I wore it.

Cover Girl Spring ’15 Most Wanted

Cover Girl Spring '15 Most Wanted
Cover Girl has a whole lot of new products out just in time for spring. So much in fact, we could hardly fit it all into one post, so these are our Most Wanted picks for Spring.
Full Lash Bloom Mascara in Very Black
Cover Girl Full Lash Bloom Mascara
It’s rare that a mascara lives up to its hype but this one does. You get length, volume and it feels like you’re not wearing mascara. I’ve rubbed my eyes a few times while wearing it and there was no stiffness whatsoever, but it also stayed on. And the shade is exactly as black as I want it.
Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Polish in Fuchsia Flame
Cover Girl Fuchsia Flame Swatch
I haven’t used a lot of Cover Girl nail polish in the past but it was so easy to work with that I’m sure I’ll be using a lot more in the future. Two coats of Fuchsia Flame gave me full coverage and the colour is gorgeous! I wore it for three days with no tip wear or chips.
Eyeshadow Quads in Blooming Blushes, Va-Va Violets and Notice Me Nudes
Cover Girl Bloom Shadow Quads
Honestly, all these eyeshadow quads are gorgeous. They go on really nicely and blend well and last a pretty good amount of time but these three really screamed spring to me.
Colorlicious Lipstick in Enchantress Blush, Champagne and Euphoria
Cover Girl Colorlicious Lipstick Swatches
These lipsticks are extremely creamy and might not last 24 hours but at least a couple. They’re also really comfortable to wear. Enchantress Blush and Champagne are great daytime shades, while Euphoria is perfect for a night out.

Make Up For Ever Tease Me Lip Set in Passionate Review

Make Up For Ever Tease Me Box
With Fifty Shades Of Grey hitting theatres this week, I’m way more excited about the makeup collection Make Up For Ever did for it than I am the actual movie. The limited edition collection features a makeup kit, a cheek kit and two Tease Me Lip Trios in Passionate (Berry) and Innocent (Nude). Since I’m always trying to conquer the perfect berry red lip, I was really happy to try out the Passionate set.
Make Up For Ever Tease Me Open
The set comes with an Aqua Lip Pencil in Matte Raspberry, an Aqua Rouge Lipstick in Limited Edition Shade 50 and a Lab Shine Diamond Lipgloss in Shimmering Grenadine. It also includes a little how to booklet. I don’t know how, but I’ve never tried a lip product from MUFE before, but this kit really lived up to my expectations. All three products play well with each other and different combinations give you really different results.

The lip pencil is a little darker than I’d normally use but mixed with the gloss it’s really pretty. The gloss isn’t sticky at all, smells amazing and I love that it has a lip brush applicator that’s really flexible. The star of the set for me though is the lipstick. The shade is a great red lip but it’s the actual lipstick itself that’s going to have me trying other shades. It’s a long wear (or as they call it, waterproof) liquid lipstick that has the colour on one side and a clear topcoat on the other. It’s definitely sticky and drying until you add the clear part but once you do, it’s really comfortable. This lipstick lasts forever! I went through three different removers until I found one that could get it off.

If you’ve never tried lip products from Make Up For Ever before, these kits are a great way to try it out. And now I’m off on my hunt to decide which shade of lipstick I need to try next.

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick

I have spent the fall obsessed with matte lipstick. When the new year came I wondered if it was time to switch over to something glossy or stay with the matte hues. Then I found the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick.

This lipstick isn’t about being matte or glossy, this is all about colour. This is about making a statement and saying ‘Wow’ with your lips. Unlike so many other lipsticks, the bold colour that you see in the tube is just like the vibrant colour you will see on your lips.

So yes, the finish is a nice dry matte, but you won’t really notice or care. All that you will be looking at is that colour.

Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick

Lancome L'Absolu Rouge 246 244
I’m starting to wear a lot more lipstick than I used to and one of the reasons is they’re making them a lot more comfortable and less drying. Lancome’s L’Absolu Rouge might be one of the most comfortable and hydrating lipsticks I’ve ever worn. We received 246 Rose Comtesse and 244 Rose Amnesia to try out and they’re both really flattering and I imagine they’d look great on a lot of skin tones.

The pigmentation is amazing with L’Absolu Rouge and they last a really long time but they’re also extremely moisturizing and smell delicious. Add in a magnetic cap and these will definitely become staples in my purse. There are a few more shades I have my eye on but in the meantime I’m definitely happy with these.

Bite Beauty’s Rose Coloured Beauty

bite beauty deconstructed

Every girl loves a dozen roses, so clearly Bite Beauty has a winning collection with the Bite Beauty Deconstructed Roses Collection inspired by the romantic flower. Not only was this makeup collection inspired by the colour of roses, but also the scent.

Bite added essential oils to their high shine lip gloss and lip stick for a rose scented kiss that sounds like it is to die for.

I love nothing better than rocking a red lip and this collection has more than enough options with 12 lip glosses and four lipsticks. We’ll be test driving these shades soon, so stay tuned to see the stunning shades in action.

New Find: Ardency Inn’s Americana Collection

ARDENCY_INN_AMERICANA_NATURAL_LIP_COLOR_PENCIL

Ardency Inn was named one of the top new beauty lines, so you know we had to try out their new Americana collection to see what all of the hype is about. The collection is full of natural hues inspired by the rock and diversity of New York City. This means that while their older collection have been pretty bold, this Ardency Inn line is pretty safe.

All of the lip colours in the line are naturally coloured. So while they were nice, they didn’t really wow me. Don’t get me wrong, they felt nice on, but it was clearly the no lipstick lipstick look. Even if it does look gorgeous, it wasn’t something to get excited about.

Ardency-Inn-Americana-Custom-Coverage-Concentrate

The Primer and Custom Coverage Concentrate was another story. It’s rare when a foundation comes with instructions, but that’s how intense this little bottle is. You can’t use Ardency Inn’s coverage concentrate like your regular foundation because it’s not. You need to use a very small amount with their primer (or your everyday moisturizer). You use one or two pumps, mix it all together, and then apply.

Because you are mixing it with the primer, you get a nice applications and smooth finish. It’s still a very intense coverage. This is more like the kind of foundation they use on photo shoots than you want to be wearing every day. I will probably save it for weddings or big nights on the town.

The other option is to use more moisturizer and less concentrate to give you more of a tinted moisturizer feel than foundation. I think this is a better bet for most. That way it will also be well worth the money because it could last a long time and cover up everything.
