Rimmel Insta Makeup Collection

Rimmel has added some perfecting and protecting makeup to their collection to ensure that you keep that perfect face for more hours during the day. I tried the Insta Fix & Go 2 In 1 Primer & Setting Spray, Insta Flawless Perfecting Radiant Primer and the Insta Fix & Matte Translucent Powder. As you can tell, there is makeup in the line for every stage of application.

I’m not crazy about primer, so I wasn’t surprised that I wasn’t crazy about the Rimmel product. It didn’t seem to add anything to my face. I am more a fan of primer that helps to do more to my face. The Rimmel primer might have added some shine, but it was subtle.

I love the Rimmel powder though. This powder is a multi-purpose makeup… is there anything better to hear? You can use it to stop shine, to make your skin look matte, to keep your makeup on longer and to fix any foundation issues. It’s great for makeup pros or novices because of how versatile it is.

Finally, the Fix & Go Setting Spray is one of those middle of the road products. I can’t tell yet whether it is a saving grace or an extra step. I have been noticing that my makeup is staying on longer, but I’m not sure if I can attribute that to the Rimmel spray or my foundation.

The Rimmel Insta line gets the thumbs up from me though and I can’t wait to try more from it. The contouring and highlighting makeup has been added to my wish list!

Anna Sui Loose Face Powder

Anna Sui Loose Face Powder

If you keep your makeup table looking beautiful this Anna Sui Loose Face Powder is a must own! I have never been so amazed by packaging before.

This powder is stunning! The container makes me feel like a lady out of the 20’s. There is just something about lifting the ornate top off and using the fluffy pad that transports you to another time. It’s not easy to move or to take on the go, but it is great for sitting down to pamper yourself. The purple hue of the powder is the icing on the cake.

I have been using the Anna Sui Illuminating BB Cream a lot lately. It’s this great little cream that makes my skin glow. The problem is it also made me feel a bit shiny. Enter this
powder… the purple powder is perfect for getting rid of any shine or redness. It helps to make my face matte and beautiful. I also found that it was great for lightening any accidental heavy handed bronzer or blush. Last, but not least, it helps to act as a primer holding your makeup in place for some extra time.

If you need to glam up your makeup routine, this is the product to buy. You are going to feel like a princess just having it on your counter.

Yves Rocher Zero Defaut Makeup

Yves-Rocher-Zero-Defaut

I’ve tried Yves Rocher’s skin care and makeup before, but somehow I’ve never had a chance to try their foundations. This Zero Defaut collection promises flawless skin and 14 hour coverage.

The Zero Defaut Flawless Skin Foundation is my favourite product in the line. It’s a bit thick, but not so thick that it feels heavy on my face. It’s actually surprisingly light. I can barely even feel it on my face once it dries. It also has amazingly natural coverage. It covers all of my flaws and doesn’t feel like it’s clogging up my skin. It promises 14 hour coverage and at the end of a long day, my face still looks great!

yves rocher concealer

My second favourite is the Yves Rocher Zero Defaut Flawless Skin Concealer. A little goes a long way with this concealer. It’s great to cover any flaws that the foundation isn’t going to get.

The Flawless Skin Powder is my least favourite in the line. It could be the best, but my biggest problem is that the powder is too heavy for my makeup brushes. I wanted to love it, but I could never get enough coverage to make an impact.

If you are like me and haven’t tried Yves Rocher’s foundation before, give it a shot. With natural ingredients in this foundation, your skin might thank you like mine does.
