Vita Liberata Summer Self Tanners

I have been keeping my skin safe this year, which means more self tanner at home and less soaking in the sun outside. I have been trying out Vita Liberata’s products for an enviable summer tan.

Illuminaze Complexion Veil

Until I received the Illuminaze, I only thought of Vita Liberata as a tanning company. I am now realizing that there is so much more to them. This is somewhere between a moisturizer and a primer. It does moisturize the face, but calling it moisturizer would be cheating it of all its other great properties. The sheer cream also helps to control the skin tone to give you a beautiful, natural tone. It really helps to enhance the good parts of your skin. It couldn’t have come at a better time, since now is the time when I want to stop wearing heavy foundation. Vita Liberata Illuminaze stops the need for a ton of products in favour of emphasizing what you’ve got.

Beauty Blur

This is the primer for people who want more from their makeup base. Vita Liberata Beauty Blur is a primer that moisturizes the skin while giving a natural bronzed colour and glow to your face. Unlike the Illuminaze this Vita Liberata product does give you a sun-kissed and bronzed tint to your skin. This makes it a perfect solo base for the summer when you don’t want to wear a lot of makeup. You can also get colour without the concerns of tanning or self-tanner.

Invisi Foaming Tan Water

When it’s time to go the traditional route of self-tanning, Vita Liberata has innovated in this space with their new Tan Water. This totally clear liquid actually gives you a great smooth tan that’s easy to apply. The water looks clear and even applies clear, but will tan you. Because it goes on your skin clear, you need to be conscientious about application. I found that the Vita Liberata Tan Water made me feel safe in application, so I missed a few spots that I normally wouldn’t. I left harsh lines that weren’t blurred in, because I couldn’t visibly see where the product stopped. My tan though looks great though. It’s really natural and doesn’t have any weird orange tinge.

St. Tropez Everyday Tinted Body Lotion

It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of St. Tropez. I’m not loyal to many brands, but St. Tropez is the only one that I trust my tan to in the off-season. It wasn’t surprising to me then to find another winner in the St. Tropez line with this Everyday Tinted Body Lotion.

I usually avoid tinted moisturizers because I think they are a bit of a waste of time. I would rather invest my time and money in actual tanners. This time, I thought about it differently. I got my regular St. Tropez tan. Once I noticed my tan starting to fade, I opened my container of the Tinted Body Lotion.

It’s easier to think of this like a moisturizer than a tanner. It smells like a moisturizer, it applies like a moisturizer and it feels like a moisturizer on your skin. The only difference is that after you apply this moisturizer, you need to remember to wash your hands. It dries quickly on the skin and after a few hours you can see the golden glow on your skin. The colour lasts for a few days and helps to rejuvenate your tan.

This product is perfect for that transition period between tans. It was great on parts where my tan faded faster or that are too pale. It’s a great product to keep in your arsenal over the winter when your skin feels a bit too pale.

St. Tropez Tanning Oils

St Tropez Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil

Oils are all the rage in beauty right now, so it was high time that we talked about the innovative oils from St. Tropez. Now your oil can moisturize and give you a bronze glow too thanks to the St. Tropez Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil and the Self Tan Luxe Facial Oil.

The oil is a great way to get a bronze glow without all of the commitment. You can also add some extra shimmer and shine to an existing tan (fake or real). If you have ever used a self-tanner then the luxe dry oil won’t be a surprise. You apply the oil in the exact same way using an applicator mitt on clean skin. It dries faster than most mousse tanners, so you can get dressed in just a few seconds.

You will get a glow with some golden shimmer right away. It lasts for about 10 days, but you can always reapply to extend your tan or darken it.

st tropez Self Tan Luxe Facial Oil

For your face, St. Tropez has kindly developed a similar, but lighter version of their oil. Using the mini applicator mitt, you apply this oil to your clean face. Be sure to wait a few minutes before applying any makeup or anything over top. You may not notice the colour on your face right away, but don’t rush to any conclusions. The facial oil is more subtle. It takes time to slowly tan the skin. We recommend waiting until the next day to reapply if you want something a darker.

Like the dry oil, once you have reached a golden hue that you are happy with, this oil tan will last for about 10 days.

I love the ease of this product. Because it’s lighter oil, it is really easy to apply without worrying about streaks. It’s also nice to know that it doesn’t go on too dark. I don’t want to be left with a dark tan that looks bad. This St. Tropez oil allows me to choose how dark my tan is.
